Meet the Brandywine Office Doctors

Richard. D. Bond, DDS

Dr. Bond received his dental degree from Georgetown University School of Dentistry. He completed his General Practice Residency at the Wilmington Medical Center/Christiana Care. Dr. Bond has been with Dental Associates of Delaware since 1984 and is a member of the American Dental Association, Delaware State Dental Society, and First State Implant Study Group. Along with the previous affiliations, he is also on the dental teaching staff at the Wilmington Hospital of the Christiana Care Health System, and was selected by his peers as a Delaware Today Top Dentist.

Dr. Bond is committed to providing the highest quality personalized dental care in a friendly and caring environment. It is especially important to him to spend ample time with each patient, in order to explain treatment options and perform each procedure.

Dr. Bond grew up locally in Claymont, DE where he earned the Eagle Scout Award. He also lead the University of Delaware Marching Band as Drum Major for three years. Dr. Bond enjoys scuba diving, skiing, and bodysurfing at LBI with his family.

Dr. Erik S. Bradley, DDS

Dr. Bradley has been practicing for 27 years and received his undergraduate degree from Penn State University in 1987. He graduated Phi Beta Kappa. He received his dental degree from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1991 and completed his AEGD residency at The University of Maryland (Baltimore College of Dental Surgery) in 1992. He belongs to the American Dental Association (ADA), The American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD), and presently serves as the Secretary for The Delaware State Dental Society (DSDS).

Central to his core beliefs is the principle of continuing education and in that vein he has completed and graduated from the Core curriculum at The Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies(LVI). He is also active in The Spear Continuum, having taken a number of classes at their headquarters in Scottsdale, Arizona as well as being active in a local Spear study club.

One of his primary interests is in the field of conservative esthetic dentistry and the use of composite resin to achieve lifelike esthetic restorations. He has taken numerous courses at The Center for Esthetic Excellence (CEE) and has been an active follower of some of the leading esthetic instructors both in the US and abroad. In particular, he has traveled internationally to study with Newton Fahl- in Brazil-in an effort to broaden his horizons with respect to technique and materials.

In an effort to integrate new modalities into the practice of conservative dentistry, Dr Bradley has added new technologies such as Invisalign and Botox to help facilitate completing more complex cases.

He is also qualified to evaluate and treat certain cases relating to Sleep Apnea. Further education has allowed for treatment of cases relating to Tempero Mandibular Disorder (TMD- commonly referred to as TMJ), by using computerized Neuromuscular Jaw Tracking.

Having spent many years abroad growing up (Norway, Greece, S. Africa and Switzerland), Dr Bradley enjoys traveling, skiing and golf. He lives locally and is married with three children.

Dr. Caterina Carafides, DMD

Dr. Caterina Carafides is a graduate of Drexel University, where she earned her B.S. in Biology and was a member of the University Honors Program, National Society of Collegiate Scholars and the Captain of the Varsity Women’s Lacrosse team. She is also a graduate of the Temple University Kornberg School of Dentistry, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude. She has completed her General Practice Residency at the Christiana Care Health System. Dr. Carafides is a member of the Delaware State Dental Society, the Academy of General Dentistry and the American Dental Association. She is active in The Spear Learning Continuum and is active in a local Spear Study Club.

Dr. Carafides takes pride in working with patients of all ages in a compassionate and caring environment. Her use of modern dental technology and her focus on continuing education, such as with the Spear Study Club, allows her to treat her patients comprehensively and with the latest methods available.

In her free time, Dr. Carafides enjoys traveling, coaching youth lacrosse, running, and spending time at the shore with her family.

Dr. Richard J. Carroccia, DMD

A graduate of the Boston University School of Graduate Dentistry, Dr. Carroccia has practiced restorative and cosmetic dentistry over 20 years. In addition to earning his dental degree, Dr. Carroccia has completed studies at the prestigious Las Vegas Institute. The training he has earned at LVI has encouraged him to concentrate his practice in cosmetics, aesthetics and neuromuscular dentistry. Dr. Carroccia’s neuromuscular training allows him to diagnose and treat TMJ problems by utilizing state-of-the-art EMG and Jaw tracking technology. He has also been trained to help patients who suffer from sleep apnea by repositioning the jaw to help the patients breathe better and easier. He is certified in Invisalign and dental lasers. Dr. Carroccia utilizes the iTero system which incorporates impression free procedures. He maintains an active affiliation with the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, The Academy of Graduate Dentistry, The American Dental Association, Delaware State Dental Society, the American Academy of Sleep medicine and the First State Implant Study Group. Dr. Carroccia is a staff member and an attending dentist with Christiana Care. In addition to his professional commitments, Dr. Carroccia lectures to the public on cosmetics, neuromuscular dentistry and the latest advances and technology in modern dentistry.

Dr. Richard S. D'Antonio, DMD

Dr. D’Antonio has been practicing dentistry in private practice since 2003 when he earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine (D.M.D.) from Temple University School of Dentistry.

Dr. D’Antonio is exactly the kind of dentist our patients love, he is caring, gentle and has extensive knowledge in general and cosmetic dentistry. He believes strongly in “doing the right thing” and prides himself in providing the highest quality cosmetic and comprehensive dental care available. He continues to pursue the latest advancements and techniques in modern dentistry by attending courses at the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies. He is active in the Spear Continuum and the local Spear Study Club. He is a certified provider for both Invisalign and Six Month Smiles, and is a member of the Delaware State Dental Society and the American Dental Association.

Dr. D’Antonio’s philosophy is to provide the highest level of quality dental care. Honesty, integrity, and kindness are what Dr. D’Antonio shows each and every patient. He is a perfectionist with an amazing eye for turning complex cases into beautiful smiles. Not to mention, he loves the challenge! Dr. D’Antonio also loves treating multiple generations of families, and takes the time to thoroughly educate all patients and guide them to optimum dental health.

Having four children of his own, he welcomes the opportunity to treat children to ensure that their experience is a pleasant one. In his free time, Dr. D’Antonio loves spending time with his loving wife and four children. He loves the outdoors and enjoys mountain biking, hiking and taking trips to the beach.

Dr. Mark A. Fortunato, DDS

Dr. Fortunato, a graduate of Temple University School of Dentistry, completed his General Practice Residency at the Medical Center of Delaware/Christiana Care and has been in private practice since 1981. As a member of Dental Associates of Delaware since 1986, Dr. Fortunato practices in our Brandywine Office. He is a member of the American Dental Association, the Delaware State Dental Society, the International Team for Implantology (ITI) and the First State Implant Study Group. Dr. Fortunato has extensive experience in general, reconstructive and aesthetic dentistry. He is a Trustee and Treasurer of the Kennett Pike Association and a past Trustee of the Delaware Art Museum and the Delaware Symphony Association.

Dr. Christopher J. Tai, DMD

Dr. Tai earned his dental degree in 2002 from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. Upon graduation, Dr. Tai also completed an additional one year of Advanced Education in General Dentistry with the United States Navy. Serving this country, he was deployed for two years as a practicing Dentist on board the USS Carter Hall before joining Dental Associates of Delaware in May 2005. As an experienced General Dentist, Dr. Tai is well trained in the areas of Endodontics, Oral Surgery, Cosmetic Procedures and Invisalign. He places a special emphasis on the treatment of children to ensure that they have a wonderful experience visiting the dentist. Having a great experience also extends to the anxious dental patient. He also continues to add services, like dental implant placement surgery, to ensure patients get high quality dental treatment all in the same office without having to go anywhere else.
