A local of Hockessin, Delaware, Dr. Dua is an alumnus of Sanford High School. He graduated from Villanova University Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology. Dr. Dua went on to earn his dental degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine in Philadelphia where he received the Dean’s Merit Scholarship. He then completed his General Practice Residency at Christiana Care Health Services, Department of Hospital Dentistry.

Having joined Dental Associates of Delaware in 2009, Dr. Dua has expanded his expertise as a general dentist. Dr. Dua became certified to practice Oral Sedation Dentistry with training from DOCS Education, allowing him to safely and effectively treat patients with dental anxieties and fears. He takes the time to educate his patients on all procedures and, alongside his kind and attentive staff, provides a calming environment to keep his patients at ease. Moreover, Dr. Dua is a certified provider of Invisalign® and Six Month Smiles cosmetic braces. Dr. Dua’s top goal is to provide quality care, so that his patients have healthy smiles. Dr. Dua’s professional associations include the American Dental Association, First State Implant Study Group, and Delta Sigma Delta Dental Fraternity.

When he is not in the office, Dr. Dua enjoys spending time with wife, Michele, and their children, Jay and Lila. Now that his children have both started youth sports and dance, you can always find Dr. Dua having a catch with his son or along the sidelines cheering on his kids. He is an avid sports fan, deeply loyal to all Philadelphia teams. In his little spare time, Dr. Dua enjoys playing golf and traveling with his family.

Dr. DeFord is a graduate of the University of Richmond where she earned her B.S. in Biology with minors in Health Care Studies and Dance. She later earned her D.M.D. degree from Temple University in Philadelphia. Shortly after earning her degree, Dr. DeFord moved to Baltimore to complete a General Practice Dental Residency at Johns Hopkins Hospital where she received extensive training on various dental procedures such as oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, surgical extractions, and sedation. In addition, she gained experience with emergency/trauma situations and pre-post operative care. Dr. DeFord enjoys treating patients in all aspects of comprehensive dental care and is happy to provide excellent care for your whole family. She is committed to continuing education and is an active member of the American Dental Association and the Academy of General Dentistry.
