Most American’s are aware that if you do not brush your teeth you will ultimately get cavities. However what most people are not aware of is that more than one in four children in the United States have had at least one cavity by the age of four. A majority of children are likely to get a cavity as early as the age of two! Statistics such as these have led the American Dental Association or the ADA to recognize February as National Children’s Dental Health Month. The ADA’s goal is to raise as much awareness as possible about developing excellent oral health. Dental Associates of Delaware can’t help but agree with the ADA on these matters. Teaching children the importance of proper oral care from a young age is an extremely valuable tool.
