Get to Know Dr. Christopher J. Tai

For Dr. Tai, his favorite part of his job is being able to practice dentistry in a way that truly puts patients first. He loves taking the time to understand each person’s needs and working together to create solutions that are conservative, comprehensive, and long-lasting. Being part of a collaborative environment where patients feel cared for, heard, and supported is what makes this work so meaningful to him, and he’s excited for you to experience it.

Why Did You Decide to Become a Dentist?

“I decided to become a dentist because I’ve always loved working with my hands and helping people feel their best. Dentistry lets me blend problem-solving with creativity, and there’s something meaningful about being able to make a real difference in someone’s health and confidence. My goal is to give patients the best experience possible, one that feels comfortable, supportive, and genuinely focused on their well-being.”

Where Did You Study Dentistry?

Dr. Tai earned his dental degree in 2002 from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. Upon graduation, he completed his Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency with the United States Navy. Serving his country, he was deployed for two years as a dentist on board the USS Carter Hall before joining Dental Associates of Delaware in May 2005. As an experienced general dentist, Dr. Tai is well-trained in the areas of endodontics, oral surgery, cosmetic dentistry, dental implant placement, and Invisalign. He’s also an active member of the American Dental Association, Delaware State Dental Society, and regularly pursues advanced training through Spear Education.

Outside of the Dental Office, What Do You Like to Do?

Dr. Tai is an avid golfer and traveler, but when he isn’t on the green or exploring some new destination, you’ll mostly find him spending time with his daughter and grandchild. He’s also a tech enthusiast and always interested in learning about the latest devices and applications.
